Cities Flash Washington DC

Weeknight & Flash & ESL & Techno & Pizza

In honor of Prince and his gift to music, Flash played his entire discography on the rooftop last night while wAFF, UK based DJ and producer, made his debut in D.C on the main floor. Flash cares about the music. One of the most attractive features of Flash’s opening back in 2013, was that it would be one of the first nightclubs in D.C. that put the music before the glitz and glamour. Flash has lived up to this standard by all classifications. Internationally praised underground artists have inundated the district in the past three years, and for all intentions, Flash has aided in the awakening of techno as a readily and accessible scene in Washington D.C. Thank you for that! Last night, as a tribute to Prince, the rooftop at Flash, which has a solid 12-point Funktion-One sound system, was blaring songs from the late artist as a small group of party-goers two stepped, looking at views of the city.

There was a bigger crowd over at Eighteenth Street Lounge, specifically on the patio where our very own local talent, Navbox, was gracing the decks. Attendees spent the evening star gazing, and getting down, and dirty, on the dance floor to some dark tunes as Navbox ended the night with a tune by Prince.

All in all, a good night out in D.C. for techno junkies and even better for pizza lovers. Right around the corner from Flash, there is a hidden gem called “Gay Pizza Place” also known as Angelina’s or just Jumbo Slice Pizza! If you haven’t gone here yet, you should make your way out here and grab yourself a slice or rather a whole pie. Everything is clearly made to order and is absolutely delicious. Their service is extremely fast and the pizza is absolutely tasty. Angelina, the owner, is a friendly and great delight. Thanks Angelina and family for welcoming us, meeting us, hugging us, and feeding us!

Ciao!
