May is usually the jump off for the busy partying season in the District. On Friday May 13, Mathew Dekay, a Dutch DJ, who is part of the label All Day I Dream, played at Flash nightclub. There is typically a vibe that goes with these events that other All Day I Dream artists such as Yokoo, Lee Burridge, and Oona Dahl also bring to the table. All Day I Dream parties are usually held outside and bring a very unique, and artistic, crowd. That was not really the case at Flash, but it also was not advertised as an All Day I Dream party either. We wish it was!
The crowd was the same, and self-expression from patrons was a little more limited than other nights at Flash. Matthew Dekay did rapidly warm up the crowd up with his enjoyable set, as Flash club-goers filed through the main dance floor shortly after midnight. There was plenty of room to move around, dance and two-step through the main floor. Mathew Dekays set started off uplifting and turned a lot darker as the night turned into the morning. Great job Mathew Dekay, come back to D.C. soon. Techno & Pizza is really looking forward to seeing Lee Burridge at Flash this Friday June 10, 2016 for the Motel Flash 3-year anniversary!
