ADID Cities New York

The rain can’t stop us from dreaming

In contradiction of all calculations, All Day I Dream of Sublime Summer Time in New York a few weeks ago was a magical experience. With thunderstorms and heavy rain in the forecast for Sunday, and a location change from the Brooklyn Mirage to Governor’s Island, many were skeptical about the turn out of this event.

Early in the day, as partygoers got to the ferry’s pickup location in Manhattan, substantial winds and light showers started coming through with gray and white clouds draping over the skies. At Governor’s Island, smiling guests were wearing bright colors with truly diverse and curated garments. The guests were joyful and positive energy was flowing all throughout the venue.

The DJ booth was ground level, sheltered with pretty white blossoms, purple flowers, and green plants. All Day I Dream event coordinators setup an enclosed tent for everyone to gather into during the rain. As the day progressed, vibrant umbrellas were moving around to the beats, people dressed in rain boots and blue ponchos as they swayed to Mike Khoury’s, Death On The Balcony’s, and Lee Burridge’s melodic music. ADID was a joyous celebration, full of incredible music. Considering that mother nature was not on their side, the event was quite impressive. One couple got engaged during a marriage proposal, love was definitely in the air.

Later on into the evening, torrential downpour hit Governor’s Island, followed by a dazzling double rainbow over the pink and purple cotton candy skies, which made the day feel enchanted and dream-like. Purely stated, Techno and Pizza, can’t get enough of that feeling paired with these intimate settings, that blend the right music and crowd together.

Attention All Day I Dream: Washington D.C. is waiting for you!

Ciao
