Camp Alborz – That Place Where The Wave Finally Broke

Camp Alborz, a group of like-minded individuals from around the globe, have formed a community that demonstrates and embodies the 10 principles of Burning Man. The shared experiences with Alborz on the playa, and in the default, have led to openness, transparency, authenticity, and extreme gratitude. Many of the campers or ‘Alborzians’ bring positive energy, legendary hospitality, and immense talent to the playa. Camp Alborz provides an easy-going environment and features a diverse mix of creative artists, medical professionals, technologists, and musicians who include Middle-Eastern and global influence in their work. Haft Cheshmeh, the beverage bar at Alborz features a number of ‘sharbat’ drinks. Sharbat’s are popular drinks in Iran and other parts of the Middle-East. They are served chilled, and sweetened with flowers or fruit. In Arabic the word ‘sharbat’ means a concoction of water, and sugar. Drinks such as ‘Aragh Nana’, mint water, and ‘khake shir’ popcicles, which consist of little maroon and brown seeds that come from Sisymbrium Irio have health benefits and are served at Haft Cheshmeh. ‘Bahar narenj, or orange blossom popcicles are an aromatic and refreshing frozen treat to help spice up the day and keep fellow burners cool.
