It is not often we see a symbiotic partnership that allows a glimpse into a window of two souls feeding each other a rare type of creative energy and respect.
The artists Mira and Chris Schwarzwalder played back to back this past weekend at Sunday Love at Flash Nightclub, located in Washington, DC. Mira, an artist from Germany, often teams with her partner-in-crime, Christopher Schwarzwälder, and the two of them have unleashed a host of chart-topping singles. Christopher is also a producer, musician, and DJ from Germany. They started with a chill, mellow electronic downtempo sound and slowly built into the kind of energy that kept the audience out until midnight – way past the DC crowd’s regular departure at 8ish pm. The Sunday Love crowd stayed to witness the artistry of these long-term collaborators, their pure joy of playing, the crispness of their transitions, and the joy of showing each other their following tracks or just vibing and dancing with the crowd and themselves.
We had the privilege of seeing two artists overextend themselves to make up for the lost time during quarantine; we saw two incredible talented people who genuinely love their craft and the community who came to support them. The energy in the crowd was palpable, and in this heavy town, with all of its political undertones, it is quite a feat to elicit the kind of response Mira and Chris did. Together they were a perfect match; they found a tribe in each other and played beautifully. It was a proper love kind of Sunday, a collective love. And we can thank Mira and Chris for that. We hope to see them back in DC very soon!
Ciao!
