Sunshine, Beats, and a Sold-Out Rooftop: Alborz × Sunday Love at Flash DC

A Sold-Out Sunday Rooftop Party at Flash DC

On Sunday, August 10, 2025, the rooftop at Flash Nightclub in Washington, DC became the setting for Alborz × Sunday Love. Alborz is a sound camp on the playa at Burning Man, located at 8:45 and F this year. More than just a camp, it is a home in the middle of the dust, a place filled with warmth, music, community, and the kind of magic that turns strangers into family. Every year, the camp comes together to build something unforgettable. In 2025, the focus is on evolving, refreshing, and returning to the roots of what makes Alborz so special, with a brand new stage and a custom state-of-the-art sound system. This sold-out collaboration brought together music, community, and thoughtful touches that set the tone for the hours ahead. The day began with a wellness session at 2:45 pm, a calm lead-in to the main event. By 4 pm, the doors to the roof were open, the decks were ready, and slices of cold watermelon and bowls of fresh fruit waited on the counter. It was an unspoken welcome that made the gathering feel personal before the first beat even dropped.

Local Roots, Global Energy

The lineup carried a hometown connection. ShiliMili, Enamour, and Dastan all share roots in the DC scene, and on this afternoon, they turned the rooftop into a gathering that felt part family reunion and part dance floor communion. Dastan’s immediate family was in the crowd, and friends from DC, Maryland, and Virginia filled the space, adding to the sense that this was more than just another Sunday party.

ShiliMili opened from 4 to 6 pm with a set that moved through deep house and minimal but refused to stay in one lane. Tracks from Shonky and ANOTR sat alongside selections by Octo Octa and Eden Burns, creating a dialogue between old favorites and new discoveries. A highlight of her set was Goddess by Tiger Stripes. This track drew immediate attention and had people talking well into the evening.

Enamour took over from 6 to 9 pm, opening with the lush and melodic atmosphere reminiscent of an All Day I Dream afternoon before gradually steering the sound into deeper and more textured territory. His Hang in There! brought a playful lift, Zizzy added a percussive pulse, and Sébastien Léger’s Mistily cast a shimmering glow over the dance floor. Unreleased tracks slipped into the mix and caught ears instantly. Magic House by Dino Lenny emerged as one of the summer’s defining tracks and was met with open arms. As the night’s headliner, Enamour included Can’t Get You Outta My Head as one of his closing tracks, turning it into a dance floor stormer that had the crowd moving in complete unison and singing along at the top of their lungs.

Dastan closed from 9 to 11 pm with a blend of organic house, deep grooves, and vocal-driven edits that invited the crowd to stay locked in until the very end. Bones by Oliver Koletzki and HVOB brought an emotional gravity to the night, followed by Dastan’s own High Priestess, which carried a personal signature that resonated with the audience. An unexpected but striking edit of Billie Eilish’s Bury a Friend appeared late in the set, and a reworked version of The Cure’s Friday I’m in Love offered a buoyant sing-along.

After the Music Stopped…

When the music on the rooftop finally stopped, the evening carried on. Many made their way to Eighteenth Street Lounge for more Sunday night dancing, while others lingered outside. On the street, a portable stereo clipped to someone’s hip kept the music going, turning Shaw into an impromptu afterparty.

A Rooftop Night Before the Headlines

Less than twenty-four hours later, news broke that the President intended to take federal control over Washington and deploy the National Guard. In retrospect, the timing cast a strange light on the night before. For those who were there, the rooftop felt like a free space that belonged entirely to the people in it. In a city where headlines can shift overnight, the memory of that shared rhythm will last far longer.

Alborz at Burning Man 2025

If you are heading to the playa this year, Alborz will be at 8:45 and F and is excited to unveil a brand new stage, custom designed and lit by BlueSoul Woodworks. The camp will be powered by a state-of-the-art custom sound system from Lantern Sound Design because Alborz is, after all, a dedicated sound camp. Parties will run Monday night, Wednesday night, and Thursday night, and if you miss those, make sure to come by after the Man burn for the famous tea party on Saturday night. The lights will be on, the music will be dialed in, and you will not regret it.
